Every payment
should count.
Payments are the least fun part of running a business. We would like to change that. Travede handles the billing, the vaulting, and the chasing down of failed payments so you can get back to the part of your business you actually started it for.
Connected beats stitched together.
Payments, subscriptions and customers belong in one record, not five tools.
You stay in control.
Your payment data is vaulted independently of your gateway, and you can leave without penalty.
Good revenue deserves a second chance.
A declined renewal shouldn’t end a customer relationship.
Travede got started in Orem, Utah in September 2021, mostly out of frustration. Three things in payment processing drove us up the wall. Nobody would tell you what you were really paying in fees. Recovering a failed payment was treated as your problem. And your own customers’ card data sat with the gateway, not with you. So we built one platform that fixes all three: fees you can actually see, recovery that runs on its own, and payment data that belongs to you.
Our first client set the pattern. They were bleeding revenue to declined renewals and had no idea what processing was really costing them. We showed them the true cost of taking payments, quietly recovered the declines that could be recovered, sorted the rest into a tidy list for a friendly follow-up call, and rebuilt how they handled failed transactions. They kept more customers and more money. That is still our favorite moment, and we get to have it with every new client.
Today we process millions of dollars every month for businesses in all kinds of industries, from a company billing one customer to platforms billing millions. Most people find us because of recovery, then stick around for payments and subscription billing. Getting started is painless on purpose. Create a user for us in your existing gateway and we start recovering failed payments on your existing tokens. When you are ready, we take over cycle billing and invoicing, and new cards start flowing into our vault. Nothing gets ripped out. Nothing breaks.
What we will never do
We will never cut corners, fudge the truth, resell your data, or lock you in. If you ever want to leave, you can, and we will help you pack. We are here to be a true partner and advocate for you when it comes to managing and billing your customers.
Where we are headed
Over the next two years we are building toward the same thing we started with: full insight and control over your customers, their payment information, and what you spend on processing, with less of your week going to it every month. More time for your business, less time thinking about ours.
Jake Palmer
Jake started Travede in 2021 because he was tired of watching merchants get the runaround on fees, lose customers to declined cards, and have their own payment data held hostage by a gateway. He runs the business and spends most of his time with clients, working out how they bill and how they keep their customers. His test for every decision is simple: does this give the merchant more insight and more control? If not, we do not ship it.
Andrew Baugh
Andrew has been building software since 2002 and still gets a kick out of it. He runs engineering at Travede and built the platform behind our recovery, billing, and vault. He cares about two things: solving the real problem in front of the customer, and making sure the fix still holds up when the volume is a hundred times bigger. He writes code every day and would like to keep it that way.
